Our Weekly Reader was about spreading kindness and treating others the way we wanted to be treated.  We did a little experiment with toothpaste.  Each student squeezed some toothpaste on a plate.  Then I challenged students to put the toothpaste back into the tube.  They said it was impossible to put it back in.  I said the toothpaste is like us saying unkind words to someone.  Once we say those words it is impossible to take them back even if you say your sorry.  Those words hurt other's feeling and we not able to take them back just like we are unable to put the toothpaste back in the tube.
